We're looking forward to having you in D.C.! Below are some recommendations on housing and transportation that should help you make arrangements, whether you're coming on your own or with a group.

Where to Stay: Here's some information on hostels and hotels in area. For participants of limited income, hostels are a great option. Most of the facilities listed below are less than $25 per person per night. .

Hotels: Hotel rates are estimates based on two-person rooms for the nights of February 24th and 25th . We recommend trying www.orbitz.com or www.hotels.com to ensure you get the cheapest booking rates.

Where to go: Here's some information that should help with you travel arrangements to DC and help you get around once you're there.
(Please note: Transportation to the event is not arranged by event organizers and is the responsibility of individual participants)

    • Airports to use: Three airports can be used to fly to Washington, D.C . The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) and the Dulles International Airport (IAD) are about one hour from downtown D.C. Public buses provide transport from both airports into the city. Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) is located inside Washington D.C. Metro trains can take you directly from the airport to any part of the city.
    • Directions to the kick-off pre-registration event: We're going to have a pre-registration/meet & greet event on Sunday evening for all participants. This is going to take place at the Thurgood Marshall Center (1816 12th St. NW, Washington D.C. 20009). It's right near the U Street metro stop, in a fun and historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
    • Directions to the event location: Registration on Monday, February 25th will begin in the lobby of the Lisner masAuditorium (730 21st St. NW, Washington, DC 20052) on the campus of the George Washington University (in the heart of Washington, DC) at 8:00am, and the opening keynote panel will start at 10AM. After lunch, plenary panels and breakout sessions will take place at both the Lisner Auditorium and at the next-door Marvin Conference Center (800 21st St. NW).     • Getting around Washington, D.C.: Please visit www.wmata.com to see bus and metro schedules around the city, which are very convenient and easy to use. We encourage participants to take advantage of the offerings of our nation's capital while they are in town. For information on sightseeing, the Washington Post website or DC Pages are good places to start.
